Poison King

This game was developed for Mini Jam 166: Earth and is a strategic variation of chess. The primary objective is to capture the opponent's king. Unlike traditional chess, this game does not involve a classic checkmate; instead, the game ends immediately when a king is captured.

The game introduces several unique mechanics. Notably, the Poison King creates two poison squares each turn. If a unit occupies a poison square at the end of the turn, it is eliminated. Additionally, units under the Poison King’s control can teleport between poison squares, adding a layer of complexity to the strategy. Players must work to defeat the Poison King and prevent the spread of poison to save the world.

To start the game, you will need to run the .jar file using Java. Ensure to have at least Java 17 installed on your system, then execute the following command in the directory of the game:
